Weird sensation

For as long as I can remember I have had a certain sensation that seems to begin behind my forehead and goes back over my skull and down my spine and through my legs. This sensation occurs when I feel a strong emotion or remember a occasion or time that holds a great deal of pleasant emotions. It feels like warm water flowing from my head, down my back and through my legs. Does anyone else out there have these feelings? Is there anyone out there who could explain this experience in medical terms?

Quite possibly this sensation is an ‘orgasm’.

I’m not exactly sure, because I haven’t had this weirdness visited upon my person for some considerable time. So my diagnosis contains elements of the anecdotal.

It sounds like a rather long orgasm though, I will say that.

i get the same sensation when i urinate after holding it in for a long time. no really, i do.

That sounds to me like a case of the “chills”. I get them all the time, especially when I’m listening to a piece of music that I particularly enjoy. I’ve also heard the word used in conjunction with frightening things (e.g “the book will send chills down your spine”). I’ve only experienced the chills in association with pleasant things but perhaps some people get them when they’re scared.

I have no idea what causes them or why they occur. Just one of the many quirks of being human, I guess. Maybe someone can come up with a good neurological explanation…

You’re feeling the spirit.
