Mine will be that line from Jurassic Park. Where the guy goes: “Na uh uh… Na uh uh…” I know I’ve seen this referenced in a few sitcoms. The last one I saw it in was Rick and Morty I think.
I wonder if younger viewers even get the reference?
Another weird reference that seems to be in nearly every cartoon I watch now is the kamehameha beam from Dragonball Z. My nephew says DZ is one of the most popular animes in the US, Going by the shear amount of references he must be right.
I feel like it’s become a trope because in one episode of Amphibia they use it without any other reference to DZ.
In species where males and females look different, both sexes will be drawn to look the same. The first time I noticed it was in Barnyard. TV Tropes talks about it here: Animal Gender-Bender - TV Tropes
It’s also in the South Park episode “Fun with Veal”, which apparently came out before Barnyard existed. I think the calves in that episode were all supposed to be male, because only male calves are used for veal. But they had udders.
You reminded me of the trope of cartoons/ comics anthro female characters of species that don’t have breasts are either drawn curvy or with breasts. Although I suppose that’s the idea behind anthro characters anyway. Still it’s kind of ironic to see characters such as Daisy Duck with breasts.
