One of those steel wire, coated dog leash/tethers! Available at every dollar store and not even capable of holding a chihuahua but it does have its secret purpose. Follow the old wire in and run it through firewall and dash. It even has a handy loop on the end for pulling and even has an carabiner on the end for hooking to the latch!
I hate summer. Not because I hate sun and warm weather activities.
No, I hate it because here (Dallas), it gets hot (meaning daytime highs over about 93) around the middle of May and stays at least that hot through the third week of September. And to make it worse, it pretty much only rains once or twice during that period. So from mid-May to mid-September, it’s oppressively hot and dry here with no relief whatsoever. It’s that kind of weather where a breath of wind makes you hotter, rather than cooling you off.
An average summer day is a low around 77-81, and a high around 95-100 with low humidity and evil, super-hot sun. And from about the last week of July through mid-August most years, the highs are over 100, sometimes as high as 108, with nighttime lows nearing 85.
It sucks. You can’t really go do stuff in that weather after about noon; it actually becomes dangerous, and hydration becomes a serious concern.
Iowa… where you can hear the corn grow the higher the humidity gets.
this is the southern ca “high desert” from march to November usually …
