Well-designed, clever logos: The Encyclopedia of Alabama

I wouldn’t be surprised if this is in one of the lists already posted, but they’re not loading for me. It’s a Thinktank.

Huh. I always thought it looked like a smile, not an arrow. (Hey, books make me happy…)

I love the UK Space Agency logo - it’s modern but it actually says something, namely “We’re British, and we’re doing space!”

I don’t think the Sony VAIO logo is on either of those lists of cool logos, but it is an interesting one. The VA part of the logo looks like an analog wave while the IO looks like binary code.

Cool! Thanks for the links. My favorites are Aviator (great color choices, and I like the crisp lines of the paper airplane/capital A), Wiesinger Music (with the piano keyboard forming the W and M), Spartan (had to look twice to see not just the golfer but the face and helmet of the warrior), and Love Clip (simple but effective).

I designed quite a few logos for fictional companies in a high school art class. My teacher practically had a fetish for logos; designing one certainly forces you to be concise and imaginative. My favorite (I can still draw it!) was for the Yokum Yo Yo Corp. - three interlinked Ys.

“An image of a kid being crushed like a bug by a closed book” is clever?
