Well I'm back in Iraq . . . .

I am now on my second tour in Iraq, roughly four months into it. The first trip was exciting and a new experience. This one, however, is absolutely horrible. I am experiencing nothing interesting like I did last time. I posted a couple threads a few years ago about what I was doing. This time all I seem to do is pull guard and sit in an office. Now I know there are those people that go out on patrols and am seriously greatful of that fact. However, the vast majority of the soldiers here are getting robbed from the experience and knowledge earned by those that deployed the first time. Most people will never interact with an Iraqi outside of the FOB’s. Most people will never be able to walk around one of the local cities or go and see some of the amazing sites. Basically the point of this rant is the fact that I feel that these soldiers are getting robbed and cheated out of a life altering experience.

Also, let me know if any of you would like some of the Iraqi currency. I would be more than willing to send ya a 250 dinar bill (Old style with Saddam) and a quick note from Iraq. This goes for anyone’s kids, friends, or what not as well.

Well, dying is a life-altering experience, so I’m glad you’re bored off your ass. Thank you for your service, and keep safe.

Well, Dryfreeze, I don’t have much to say, just thanks for your service. Stay safe, man. I hope you’re not offended, but I’m praying you continue to have a boring tour of duty.

Hey man, where are you at? I’m uprange here in Bagram, Afghanistan. I’ve got folks in Balad.

Look for RED HORSE.

Hey Trip, outside of Tikrit right now, just moved from Balad, last time I was everywhere culminating in a finish in Mosul

I’d much rather have gone to Afghanistan this go around just to experience that culture as well.

Drop me a line if you move (in my profile). I’ll be in the AOR until June-ish.

Hell, drop me a line anyway.
