Don’t worry, nothing terrible, and pretty much my own fault.
Today I had my AKT- the Royal College of General Practitioners Applied Knowledge Test- a fairly nasty doctoring exam. It’s multiple choice, the questions were horribly random and I am not feeling confident about my chances of having passed. Oh, yes it’s another £450 to repeat it if I fail, so that’s fun. I don’t find out until next month how it went.
Tomorrow I have a dental appointment for a filling, a sealant and a filling replacement that may turn into a root canal. Due to a dental phobia*, I will be taking a Valium prior to this, and can pretty much kiss the rest of the day goodbye.
I start a new job next Wednesday, which is, you know, stressful. My new boss is lovely, but the surgery is in a bad part of town, covered in graffiti, and downstairs from a Chinese takeaway.
Generally feeling a bit sorry for myself, and planning to drink wine and watch Human Target.
How are you doing?
- Parents- do not take your child to an elderly dentist who uses mediaeval dentistry woodcuts, antique foot-powered drills and graphic depictions of bullfights as a decorating theme. It is likely to give them serious issues with dentists in later life. Sadly, I’m not joking, my childhood dentist was terrifying.
