Well, I'm no Martha Stewart...

That’s mostly just really sad.

On a plus note, it would make a wildly interactive first-person-shooter environment.

My eldest sister’s house is pretty well packed with stuff but not as much as that. But at least the stuff in that house is somewhat organized and looks relatively clean. My sister’s house is filthy. They’ve lived in it for about 15 years and the insides of the windows have never once been cleaned. Both she and her husband smoke and you can barely see out of them any more. Even the inside of their dishwasher is disgusting!

I usually only go there on Christmas Eve and for their annual Memorial Day party. Once I happened to go there on a different day and was astounded to find out that on Xmas & Memorial Day the place had actually been cleaned…and it was still piles upon piles of crap. She’s not so much the “packrat that can’t bear to get rid of anything” type as she is the “I have better things to do than clean and get rid of anything” type. She needs to rent a few dumpsters and place them stragecially beneath the windows, get a shovel, then start over.

I hate to say it, but my grandma’s house is worse. Much worse. The last house she lived in was condemned, and the second one is getting close. She’s not well, but everyone in the family refuses to see it. They make excuses for her and look at me funny when I say something about it.

I really freaked out when I started noticing the same tendencies in myself. I make a point now not to keep stuff I haven’t used in 6 months. I’m donating stuff to charity left and right.
