Were "70s" style fashions still popular in the early 80s?

I grew a mustache in 1974, which was extremely common at the time. I also had sideburns down to my jawline, almost touching the 'stache

Over time, the sideburns retreated. But the 1970’s porn-'stache stayed and stayed, long beyond its welcome. I shaved it off in 2009. So, yes…some '70s fashions extended beyond their sell-by date.

In the early 70s, the thing that would get you mocked was capris (where’s the flood?).
