"We're Not Gonna Take It" - pro-war? maybe?

Can this song be construed as somewhat a pro-war song? (Goodness knows there are enough anti-war songs out there already.)

WRS - at last! a pro-war song!

I assume you’re talking about the Twisted Sister and not the equally popular song by the Who…

I suppose you can construe it as such if you really want to, but it’s pretty clearly a song about rebellion against authority, as is evidenced by the video. The lines “You’re so condescending/your gall is never ending/we don’t want nothin’/not a thing from you/your life is trite and jaded/boring and confiscated/if that’s your best, your best won’t do” don’t really fit in with a pro-war reading.

Ah, and, indeed, We spoke too soon. I did not notice that.

WRS

Well, I guess it’s more pro-war than, “We forsake you, gonna rape you, let’s forget you better still…”

If you want a pro-war song, there’s always Toby Keith’s Courtesy Of The Red, White, And Blue (The Angry American)

No pro-war rock songs?

WRS - I feel left out

If you want war songs then check out Iced Earth’s The Glorious Burden. This is the best 04 album I’ve gotten so far.

Hell it opens with the Star Spangled Banner

here are some lyrics:
You went too far this time
For this heinous crime
You will know defeat
Begging on your knees

One by one you’ll fall
Your back’s against the wall
Nowhere to turn
You’re sure to burn

There’s also some history on the album is it’s not all pro war.
