It’s five o’clock on a Saturday,
I’m sitting out in a lawn chair
with my husband sitting next to me.
I put down my book and declare
I say, “Hon, can you build me a patio?
I’m not really sure how they go,
but it could be right here where we sit and drink beer
and relax in the Tiki torch glow.”
Lo la lo le le Lowe’s
Lo lo le le Lowe’s.
Chorus:
Lay down some bricks for a patio
Lay down some bricks tonight
Well, we’re all in the mood for a weenie roast
And this is a beautiful site.
Now Lowe’s is a thirty mile drive away,
but we hopped right up from our chairs
and we drove the Jeep, blue, right down Route 22
and picked up the pavers in pairs.
He says, “Julie, what we need’s a bag of sand,”
as he grinned through the dust on his face.
“Not one bag, but three, to make paving E-Z
once we can get out of this place.”
Lo la lo le le Lowe’s
Lo lo le le Lowe’s.
Chorus:
Lay down some bricks for a patio
Lay down some bricks tonight
Well, we’re all in the mood for a weenie roast
And this is a beautiful site.
Now we bought us fifty red pavers
and we bought us three bags of sand
and we laid them down squarely and straightly, but barely
and tried not to get out of hand.
And the patio glows like a carnival!
And the torches are gleaming so bright
and the skeeters beware 'cause we’ve smoked up the air
with our hot charcoal grilling tonight.
Chorus:
Lay down some bricks for a patio
Lay down some bricks tonight
Well, we’re all in the mood for a weenie roast
And this is a beautiful site.
