The above quote is about Ted Kaczinsky. He was subjected to severe torment and humiliation while a student at Harvard as part of a sadistic psychological experiment. It surely contributed to his hatred of academia.

Mass murder can never be reasonable nor justified.
IME environmentalism is squarely a left-wing issue.
Generally yes, but it is not that simple and is only due to conservatives typically disliking change.
Earth First as an example originally arose from a libertarian conservative ideology. There is also an anti-globalization factor that can come into play which attracts some groups of conservatives.
Right-Left is probably just not enough dimensions to describe most peoples beliefs.
Animal rights is not the same thing as environmentalism at all. I am strongly pro-environment but I think the PETA type people are wrong.
And, I must apologize. Time to Godwin the thread.![]()
Good old Adolph Hitler and friends were firm believers in animal protection laws. The ones passed then are the basis for German law to this day. And these were not exactly leftists.
Something else that I noticed: most of the far-left American terrorist groups active in the 70s seemed to operate in California; most prominently in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Any reasons/explanations for that?
