West Virginia governor "scoffs" at idea of abortion referendum

Seeing what happened in Kansas, West Virginia Governor Jim Justice (R) said he opposes a suggestion by Democratic lawmakers to put abortion rights up for a referendum in his state. He’d rather let the heavily gerrymandered, Republican-majority legislature handle it.

If he believed in democracy, he’d be a Democrat.

There isn’t anything that scares Republicans more than the voice of the people.

Representative Government has one tiny flaw. It rarely represents the will of the people.
