Wh? is the relationship between Sigurd in the Völsung saga and Hrothgar in Beowulf? Are they both Danes ? Are they Scyldings?

Is there a genealogical relationship( family kinship) between Sigurd and king Hrothgar

King Hrothgar is a legendary figure. He was supposedly a Scylding , but quite possible real.

Sigurd is a mythological figure, and likely not connected at all.

Thanks Dr Deth. I’ve always seen both referred to as legendary. I didn’t know Hrothgar may have been real.

There’s also a line of scholarship that links Sigurd to the very real Sigebert I . So both are possibly inspired by real people.
