Yeah, but with “Psycho” shower scene soundtrack.
I gave two other bills at the same time: a hundred and a twenty. I was trying to simplify the situation.
Oh, I see! Yeah, that seems way more plausible (and also makes it less puzzling why neither of you happened to notice the accidental substitution of another hundred for one of the twenties right away).
My six-year-old autistic son asked about God today, and my staunchly atheist husband told him he believed no more in God than in invisible pink elephants that can’t be seen nor heard nor touched.
This was a winning argument for my - I can’t emphasize this enough - socially utterly fucking clueless child, who immediately said, “We just have to explain to them why they’re wrong so they don’t get tricked” and became very upset at the mere notion of people believing obviously wrong things, up to and including the opinion that religious discrimination is a good idea.
Requiring extensive work on my part to contextualize all of this, explain the social and cultural significance of religion and why it matters a lot to people, give explicit examples of religious discrimination happening in our state, invoke the US Constitution, and finally, convince him not to talk about religion except in private.
Thanks, husband.
They’re right. You’re wrong. Sadly, so are 250M other Americans.
I don’t disagree with my husband’s reasoning! I’m also an atheist. But you would think a little finesse would be in order for my loud, socially clueless son who belongs to a very large Italian Catholic family.
Yeah, hubs was certainly truthful. But it was also unskilled parenting. Then again, he’s on the same spectrum as kiddo.
I don’t mean to sound unsympathetic. Learning how to navigate our religion-besotted nation of fools is not easy for the normies. And harder yet for the neuro-spicy.
He’s claiming he had it under control, they just didn’t get that far before I showed up. LOL.
I am sick and fucking tired of all the MAGAts I work with and having to bite my tongue on every meeting.
Just enjoy their pain. They’re watching their bigoted world collapse around them.
Yeah, can’t say I have any rants today. ![]()
Obviously, you don’t live in Tennessee. Would it have killed the DNC to spend a little here? Blackburn was very beatable.
I’m sorry for that. I don’t know much about Tennessee politics but it seems like anything could be possible now.
Michigan swept the state House and Congress and governorship and US Senate so I really can’t ask for more today.
Well you have this.
Democrats still remain in the superminority in Tennessee’s state House, but the victory marked the first time the party has gained multiple seats in an election since 1996.
And Republicans just barely won in many races. I wouldn’t be celebrating too much if I was a Republican there.
But my condolences on being in one of the few places where Republicans could shelter from the blue tsunami.
Fuck Oklahoma.
I am thrilled for the national results, but I’m so fucking depressed. At least four more years of a fucking MAGA idiot and cronies in charge.
Yes, but I think MAGA is in its death spasms. It’ll be gone soon enough.
No promises about what replaces it, but this tumor is finally getting removed.
I sure hope so.
I think part of what makes it sting so much is we actually had a shot at electing a decent governor for the first time in forever. The attorney general (a Republican) ran for governor, and he actually seems like a reasonable person. He has been openly at war with our current MAGA governor, and he’s made a lot of decisions while attorney general that I respect and think are good for the state. I don’t agree with a good portion of his views (he is Republican after all) but he seems to be a reasonable person first and foremost.
But he lost the freaking primary because Trump stuck his nose in at the last minute and endorsed Nutjob Mazzei. And I knew then that we were screwed and had no chance. The Democrat gave it her best shot, but it wasn’t enough.
