Inspired by the “bumblbee thread:”
Beetles would seem to have a harder time flying.
Their bodies appear to be so heavy with all that armor.
The question then:
When the beatle flies, is some amount of the lift generated by the airflow over his extended “shell?”
Or does that actually add more drag, and keeps him/her from flying even faster?
