Socially definately not (gay marriage and marijuana are steadily becoming more acceptable both to the liberal centre and the general population) and economically they’re merely returning to the tradition of Smith, Cobden, and Peel after the decades of protectionism fostered by World War I and the Great Depression-they don’t support dismantling social welfare programs only in liberalizing trade.

If I recall correctly, the Tea Party website was asking for $10 a month donations. They were supported by the Koch brothers. Occupy Wall Street raised about $35k according to a Daily Mail article from last year. It’s not that nobody would vote for an OWS candidate, it’s that they’d have insufficient campaign funds most likely.

George Soros would be perfectly happy to bankroll them.

As far as I’m aware, Soros hasn’t donated to any individual campaigns, nor has he donated through any official Occupy channels, nor does he even directly fund Adbusters.

Libertarians are in favor of freedom’s they enjoy. They oppose freedoms people they do not like enjoy.

For the most part a libertarian is a Republican who likes illegal drugs and pornography, and who does not like going to church.
