Maybe he saw a dancing hamster, narwhal, or kitty cat? No glasses, after all.
Most (all?) mammals can have albinism, in years spent out in the woods as a hunter/hiker I’ve seen my fair share of albino animals (usually squirrels which seem to have it commonly around where I’ve spent time in the woods), an albino fox and a few other small mammals. I’ve never personally seen but have seen pictures of albino raccoons, deer etc.
I vote badger also. Have seen them in N/E Oklahoma and in N/W Arkansas.
Just do not go out and try to run it off. They would rather fight you than run and they are mean motor scooters. They will charge and attack, At least they did me. I charged like h— to the rear. They are not to be messed with IMHO.
Aside from the fact that absolutely nothing about the description in the OP fits a ring-tailed cat (which is neither broad, nor flat, nor white, nor has a bushy brown tail, nor is a cat), this might be a good guess.
Shit, I’ve lived in Texas for counts on fingers thirty years, and this is the 1st I’m learning that there are badgers in this state. I’d never have guessed.
Me, too. However I’ve recently seen two of them in Big Bend NP.
