Coming from a farm pigs do wallow to keep cool, but they also do it to get rid of parasites and control flies. My father also told me it controls the sun so they don’t get burned, but I have never verified that.
I can vouch pigs love to get all muddy and let it dry then rub it off in hunks and that seems to be related to fly control.
