“Beyond reasonable doubt” is the standard for a criminal conviction, isn’t it? Yours wasn’t a criminal case, was it? I assume yours was a civil infraction, which is held to a “preponderance of evidence” standard, as far as I know, but I am not a lawyer.

A state can make the burden of proof any degree it wants.

Yeah, I looked more into it last night and figured that out. Most states/municipalities do use “beyond reasonable doubt” for moving violations, although some do use “preponderance of evidence.” I’m actually a little surprised that the bar is that high for traffic infractions.

The way ours work you’ll be able to see the video from your own computer. But only if you are cited. If not, it’s not saved.

In Ohio almost all offenses are BRD, but as discussed on page 1, the infraction/red camera lights are reduced to a preponderance, and we also have a statutory exception for municipalities also besides that.
