Modeling is in some circles, a highly “prestigious” or at least a very desirable occupation/field in a celebrity, youth and beauty worshipping society.
Women models make more than men by a large factor and with very few exceptions the top people in the field are women.
In terms of verifiable world records pertaining to sporting or athletic achievement, one example seems to be deep-sea free-diving. Men and women can compete on equal terms, and women seem to better. Google ‘Tanya Streeter’ for all the cites and evidence you want, or Google ‘Audrey Mestre’ for a tragic example of what happens when this kind of endeavour goes horribly wrong.
In most other areas of sporting / athletic endeavour, men and women either compete in separate divisions, or there is no competition due to lack of interest on one side or the other, or a cultural/traditional division of specialities. For example, the marked lack of male synchronised swimming or rhythm gymnastics teams isn’t because men can’t do these things, but that they don’t want to.
I’ve often wondered why there are separate men and women’s competitions in chess and some other activities where trained physical muscular strength is not a predominant factor (e.g. snooker, billiards).
If we get away from the sporting/athletic area, and verifiable statistics, there are many areas where experience suggests women have a greater natural aptitude than men - one example being all of the areas where caring, counselling, personal empathy and nurturing are important.
