What are the greatest Drum Solos of all time?

Agreed - During the “Girls, Girls, Girls” tour they spun him upside down, it was pretty impressive. In The Dirt he talks about how he played drums for the marching band in school and is where he learned a lot of tricks.

I have also seen a good drum solo by the drummer for April Wine - but he had to take oxygen halfway through (those guys are getting old).

No votes for John Bonham? I would’ve thought he’d be in here somewhere?

I am not a drummer and would love to hear some opinions on that…

Bonham is mentioned several times. Including the Op.

Of course I realized this AFTER I posted - nevermind.

Some Hip Drum Shit from Tony Williams is pretty groovy and not too long. Williams is pretty much out there, though, on Miles Davis’ *Sorcerer * and *Nefertiti * albums, where his drums kinda lead the great quintet.

He was the bee’s knees, was Tony Williams.

mm

Carl Palmer from the live version of Emerson, Lake and Palmer’s Karn Evil 9 from “Welcome Back My Friends…”

I saw his solo tour and this was how they opened the concert. Absolutely awesome.
