What are the odds of transmission of HIV based on various transmission methods

I recently read that HIV transmission via heterosexual sex acts is pretty low, much lower than it is made out to be in the media. The figures I heard were around 1 in 500 per act of PIV (penis in vagina) sex and 0.04% per act of oral sex (so about 1 in 2500).

This gives a few figures about chances of catching the virus from various sex acts

http://www.hivlawandpolicy.org/resources/view/578

1.7% for receptive anal sex
.04% for female to male during vaginal sex
.08% for male to female during vaginal sex
What are the rates for oral sex for both the giver and receiver? The figure I found above (0.04%), I don’t know how valid that is, it could be even lower if that is about what PIV odds are in the above study. Also I can’t find figures on what the odds are for the top during anal sex, the stat above is for the bottom.

What about sharing needles? What are the odds of catching HIV if one person shares a needle with someone who has it? What about during a blood transfusion, what are the odds if that happens?

What are the odds a baby will get it from the mother? What are the odds from breast feeding?

These figures I’m looking for are for interventions without medical means of stopping transmission (clean needles, condoms, drugs to stop transmission from mothers to babies) but if someone has figures for both doing nothing and engaging in medical interventions (condoms, bleaching needles, drugs to stop transfer from mother to child, chances of catching it from sex acts from someone on ARV therapy, etc) I will take those too.

Also, how do other STDs increase the risk of getting HIV?

Clarification needed: Are you asking for transmission statistics when one party is known a priori to be already infected, or are you asking for statistics overall when that is not known?

Both, but if I can only pick one I’d pick one where one party knows they are infected. However infection rates can vary depending on where in the cycle the virus is too.

I’ve heard similar statistics; these are the probabilities when one person is infected (but things like viral load play a role as well). In general the idea is that as a man the chance of contracting HIV by normal intercourse is pretty small. What oral sex is concerned, supposedly the chance of attracting HIV is negligable (more with deepthroath); this from official STD organisations that advise Johns on forums related to prostitution.
