Simple question. I want a new vacuum cleaner to keep upstairs so that I don’t have to lug my current one up all the stairs all the time. And I hate that horrible sound that vacuum cleaners make. Makes me not want to vacuum at all.
I’m looking for an inexpensive vacuum, preferably under $100, but I’ll pay more for a really quiet vacuum.
My Dyson is pretty quiet, as vaccums go, and its performance can’t be beat. I’ve always owned high-quality vaccum cleaners, but this one takes the cake. (I was amazed and sickened the first time I used it-- all that crud my other vaccum missed!)
It cost about $400, but I think it’s worth every penny.
Thanks for the responses. I had a feeling the Dysons were probably good and quiet. I don’t think I can ever talk myself into spending that much on a vacuum cleaner, though.
I suspect if I stick with a cheap vacuum I’m going to have to live with a loud vacuum. grrr
Ahh, the wonders of having a central vacuum pre-installed in the house. They are quiet, but only if you’re not in the vicinity of the sucky bit itself, which is louder than an ordinary vacuum, for obvious reasons.
