Make it easier to get birth control. People receiving welfare or food stamps would also receive vouchers to get free condoms, pills, etc. Provide sizeable tax incentives to stores that carry condoms, perhaps especially stores in rural or low-income areas (where people have fewer choices of stores to go to). Cover exams for the birth control pill, vasectomies, and tubal ligations under nationalized health care, or give tax incentives to clinics that do those things at low or no cost for people who are too poor to afford them. Sort of like some vet clinics do free or low-cost spaying and neutering.
Maybe that would do something to lower our rate of unintended pregnancies, which (at 49% of pregnancies) is far too high. And getting the number of unintended pregnancies down would also lower the abortion rate.
Passage of the Fair Tax, Elimination of the IRS, and repeal of the 16th admendment.
School Vouchers
End the War on Drugs, its as successful as proabition was.
Honorable mention:
Designated Hitter abolishment: What an awful rule, pretty self explanitory.
Electorial college reform: I think it should stay, it does serve a purpose. However it shouldn’t be a winner take all in a state, it should award them based on the percentage of votes in the state.
Health Care Reform: I don’t believe in government health care, but putting in place a policy like group ratings (price of private insurace depends on were you live and the health of the other people in your area); and the elimination of the tax credit employers have on issuing health insurance, or make it also apply to private individuals (This won’t be neccesarry if my wish 1 up top gets passed). I believe the major problem with health care is that the american people believe health care should be provided by someone else, government or employer, not themselves.
The repeal of the 17th admentment: The federal government has grown too powerful, and I believe that is because of the loss of state oversight on it.
What about people who are in between jobs, who happen to be struck with a medical condition?
I’m cool with the military. I just don’t want to have to pay for it. Those who wish to cover the costs of invading and occupying foreign countries are free to donate as much as they want to that effort. Just don’t force me to pay for it. Do you agree or disagree?
(1) Abolish the Senate. It is screwed up that a voter from Wyoming counts 68 times more than than a voter from California. One person, One Vote. Our elected officials should represent people, not arbitrary geographical areas.
(2) All authorizations of war by Congress will automatically sunset within two years and must be renewed by the Congress.
(3) The President is subject to recall by the voters at any time.
