What are these steel objects in the park?

They’ve become very popular, especially in California and the Pacific Northwest. There are many officially planned and constructed courses… in the woods, in the fields, in parks, etc.

Check this out… more than 800 courses in “heavily wooded” areas alone:

In four minutes flat no less!! Congratulations on a super speedy solution to a very vague question. You win the good 'Dope-keeping seal of approval for the day.

My daughter calls it “frolfing” just to watch me wince.

I thought that frolfing was rolfing frogs?

I thought it was to keep food away from really short, weak bears.

Some people put out suet for birds using a small open box with something like 1/4" mesh hardware cloth to hold the suet in yet let the birds’ beaks get in there to tear some loose.

The first time I saw one of those frolf goals it reminded me of the same idea, but bigger. IOW, it’s a Pterodactyl feeder. Just stuff a piglet or small kid* in there & pop the lid on top! then sit back and watch the flocks come in.

Sheesh people, relax. I meant a baby goat.

Perhaps so.

I want to see Pooh chamber another round in that flintlock rifle.

That is a Martini-Henry.
