What are these things that came with my iPod

Yes, I bought an iPod.

I was surfing the net after having imbibed a number of alcoholic beverages. This lowered my financial inhibitions enough to order a 20GB iPod.

I love it!

It came today, and I’m already playing with it. (heh).

Anyway, what are these little black patches that came with it? I suspect they go in the earbuds, but how do I put them in?

They go over the plastic earbuds. A little tricky to get on at first, and they fall off easily too.
