What are they using so people can donate money?

I’m sure some have seen or heard about the websites where people ask for money. Cause of illnesses and such. I want to know what they are using. I’m guessing its something like Paypal, but I’ve asked other people and they say Paypal wouldn’t work for that. Anyone know what the sites are using? Or what might be able to be used for something like that?

PayPal does work for transferring money from one person to another, as I’ve used it for that myself. Not to get me out of debt, but to send money to friends and so forth. It would definitely work for fund drives.

Paypal should work for that, try digging around http://www.paypal.com/

I guess I should expand on that. PayPal has a thing called “Quasi-cash” that allows you to send money to someone that is not a payment for goods or services. The money is deducted from your bank account or charged to a credit card, whichever you have associated with your PayPal account, and transfers it to the recipient’s account, where they can withdraw it–cash transactions are held up for a certain period of time, but after that they can transfer the money into their bank or have a check issued to them.

Alright, thanks all.

Amazon also has a setup for this called the Amazon Honor System.
