My family and I will be there for ten days in July. I booked a nice beach cabin for the Cape portion of the trip in E. Sandwich. We’re still looking for Boston hotels. My eldest is nine. We’ll be driving there from NJ.
Any recommendations? Must-sees? Places to avoid? The last time I went to that area was over ten years ago.
Thank you.
I’ve never understood the appeal of Cape Cod, so I can’t help you there.
But Boston… my favorite places are:
The Museum of Science
The New England Aquarium
Faneuil Hall
The Prudential Center
Christian Science Park
If you’re into the outdoors, spend some time in the Blue HillsReservation. The centerpiece of one of the better urban park systems in the country. It’s pretty impressive…a 7000-acre forest preserve set right in the middle of a large crowded metropolitan area. Astonishing variety of flora & fauna, historic sites, and outdoor recreation. If you’re fairly fit, the 11-mile skyline trail hits every major summit in the park and offers excellent views of the city and harbor.
I worked there as a forester, a long time ago. Haven’t been back in years, but I like to think some of the improvements and projects I worked on are still in place and enjoyed by the public.
