What are you giving as gifts?

Well I can’t SAY what I got my lovely oldest daughter because she became a SD member today.
It’s really cool though.

I’ll say what I got the little princess so far:
Barbie styling head (that’s what she told Santa she wants), a fairy princess doll, a Princess jewelry and nail polish set, a cheap little “Ipod” radio, a Tinkerbell Vsmile video game cartridge, Tinkerbell tennies, purple jeans and a butterfly shirt. Her birthday is the 26th so there’s more goodies then.

My brother is getting a bottle of wine.

I let the princess pick out a few little figurines and candies for her two therapists. They always get her something so I feel silly if I don’t repay the gift.

That’s it. I don’t really shop for anyone but my girls. My brother gets the wine because we’ll be having dinner with him.

Yes, I’m a classy guy.

My sister: Tinkerbell stationary, Tinkerbell toys, and Hello Kitty clothing.

Special Guy: a Mudkip plushie.

Mom: I ended up giving her Christmas stuff for her birthday which was on the 12th. I gave her a good set of pots and pans, a cute hat, some clothing, and bubble bath.

For my stepdad and his brother I bought some shirts and hoodies because they really don’t have a whole lot of clothing. I’ll probably get something else for them along the idea of snacks because I honestly don’t know what those guys want because we don’t really communicate well.

I just finished wrapping everything…yeah!
TheKid: 2 pairs of super skinny jeans, a studded belt, Rocky Horror Picture Show T-shirt, 3oh3! T-shirt, a DVD player, and the new Harry Potter movie.

I drew my nephew’s name for gift giving, so he’ll be receiving a lovely pair of thick wool socks with a Gander Mountain gift card shoved down into one of the toes. Heh, on his list he wrote GM gift card three times. I figure it will be a slam dunk, once he gets over being miffed about receiving a pair of socks (they were $15 alone, for chrissakes!)

My mom will be receiving the usual Tin-o-popcorn and pocket calendar. Usually they’re from the critters, but we no longer have any critters from them to be from.

Oldest grand-niece (9) will be receiving “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”, a computer game (one of those storyline find its), hair accessories, and puzzle books.

Youngest grand-niece (5) will be receiving a Disney CD, hair accessories, write on/wipe off writing books (she asked for them), and coloring books.

We are very limited on what we can buy for them. It’s been made clear that everyone on our side of the family has hideous taste in clothing, so we cannot buy clothes. Their mom has also made it very clear that any toy will be thrown away. Artsy crafty stuff is “too messy” and shall be tossed, too. From talking to family members, TheKid and I are the only ones actually buying anything for them - my mom bought bonds, my sis paid for dancing lessons, my other nephew and niece are taking them for an overnight to a hotel with a pool / play area. They’re still pretty young and it would go over like a fart in church if the rest of us were opening pressies and they had none, so we bit the bullet.

Oh, and for my assorted kids-who-aren’t-my-kids-but-pretty-much-live-here (read TheKid’s friends):
The girls are receiving slippers, scented pens, journals
The boys are receiving 2 liter bottles of Mountain Dew, McDonald’s gift certificates, and socks (I know, socks?!?! but every last one of them wears the rattiest, nastiest, stankiest socks evah. TheKid said they would be offended if I bought Odor Eaters, so socks were the next best choice. She picked them out - her BF will be so happy to receive bumblebee socks from me, I’m sure)

 That’s ME! I’m that mom! I knew she’d come to this thread nosing about to see what she’s getting!
Do you think we’ve overdone it on the Tinkerbell this year?

And you forget you’ve already given me yet another cute hat for Christmas!

She loves Tinkerbell, we did just fine.
Also, I got you an alarm clock (but you haven’t hooked it up yet!)

Because I prefer to have my daughter give me a gentle nudge in the morning, silly girl.
