My car manual? Sanibel, are you really a SanibelMAN? Us guys don’t READ manuals
Yojimbo: I don’t think the Smart will work in the US. Then again, you could probably fit it in the trunk of a Lincoln Towncar, and drive it in the office
London_Calling: repeat after me, matey:
“We’re not a world power anymore. We won one world cup, but it was a long time ago. World War II is over, as is WWI. We’re not a world power anymore. We won one world cup, but it was a long time ago. Oh, Sanni, I forgot to say… Chrysler offered a turbo gas engine in the older (late 80’s, early 90’s) minivans, but to the best of my knowledge, it hasn’t been offered since about 1992, and never as a diesel.
That thing would fit inside my Jeep! And I probably wouldn’t even have to take the backseat out to make it fit!
Probly gets better gas mileage, though…my AMC 360 cid V8 gets about 12.5-13 miles a gallon (that’s over 3 gallons per day driving to skool and back  ).
Down-under, in Melbourne, we’re paying between $A0.90-$A1.05/litre (depending on the day of week) - this is roughly $US0.50 - $US0.60. Everyone’s complaining about it, because it’s gone up about $0.20 a litre in the last few months, and it looks like getting worse.
A petrol station in Yorkshire was reported to be selling today at £2.50/litre.
Don’t ask me to convert it. The pound has just crashed against the US dollar, making my salary even more worthless back home than it already is.
As for you US Dopers–a lot of you haven’t been heeding my warning It’s OK, though. I’m having fun listening to my co-workers complaining about not being able to find a petrol station with gas at ANY price. I get to work on my bike–I don’t even own a car! HAW!
I’m not going to be so happy when it starts raining again, though…
Oh crud. The price of gasoline in Norway has been up and down like the proverbial whore’s drawers lately. The government has mumbled something about “relaxing” taxes and levies on gasoline to get the price down to between 9 and 10 kroner per liter.
To give you a little hint about what they are “offering”, the US dollar is extremely strong against the krone right now, so it would be about US$1 a liter. That would be about US$3.80 a gallon. And this would be a price reduction.
I should probably fill up my little Golf before somebody blockades the fuel depots here, too.
(Incidentally, the Smart car is an electric, isn’t it?)
