What are your fake baby names?

I’ve always wanted to have a big, big family. I have names already picked out: Beverly, Lynn, Adam, Chelsea, Holden, Dennis, Quincy, Everett, Marion, Lee, Spencer, and little Somerville.

(This was about FAKE baby names, right?)

We are done with our two, but, I’ve always had a thing for names.
Boys Ignatius has been a long time favorite. Audie and Bierchiert
( pronounced Beer cart, which is actually irish, of all things.) Constantine, because it sounds like some Russian Mob Guy name.
Girls: Petra, Elizabeth, Jane, ( Pride & Prejudice, I blame you!) Augusta, Cordelia and Margeret. Maybe a Hazel, Myrtle and Rose if I had triplets.

And, my piece de resistance minus the frenchie thingies would be to name a daughter Isobel and call her Izzy. Our last name is Arndt. Izzy Arndt. Yes/No. Good Times!

I lobbied hard to name my son Joseph, but my husband absolutely put his foot down. I never could figure out exactly why…he just doesn’t like it. So in my mind, if we ever have another one (which we won’t), he will be named Joe.

For a girl…Mary Claire. And she would always be Mary Claire, never just Mary.

ETA:

One of the things my husband complained about with my name suggestions was that they “sounded too Catholic.” I told him if we didn’t decide before the kid was born, I was going to name him Ignatius Loyola.

If we had more kids (we have no plans to) the names we came close to using were Brian as in Brian Boru for a boy.

For a girl the near misses were Rhiannon* (Ties to Fleetwood Mac and Celtic Myth) or Willow which we thought was cute. (No we are not Buffy fans) As it was my daughter got a CSN related girls name that tied to Welsh legends.

I don’t have the indecency to do it but I always liked Luthien and Galadriel for Girls.

  • As usual I see my friend **Silenus **has excellent taste.

A famous Emmeline (note the spelling): Emmeline Pankhurst - Wikipedia

Google gave me 899,000 hits for Emmeline, and just 289,900 for Emmaline.

I don’t see any more kids in my future, but if I did their last name would be Kozak.

First names would be Carmello and Tupak - both names sound neat with Kozak for different reasons.

I don’t know about boys, but for girls, I like Cecilia, Vivienne, and Victoria. Isabella is also a nice name, although it happens to be very popular currently, apparently ranked #1. No particular inspiration, I just went through Behind the Name looking for names I liked.

Valete,
Vox Imperatoris

ETA: And I liked the Indian name Nisha, as well.

I only have boys names “picked” because I only imagine having sons…if I have a daughter, I’ll have to think hard!

Nicholas Danger
Owen Ready
Chistopher [middle name?]
Jeremy [middle name?]

I overlooked this earlier - I like that name a lot too. One of my dormmates was a Nisha (her parents were immigrants from India, but she and her siblings were born here) and we all thought it was a lovely name.

If I had any more kids (impossible), I like Jane for a girl (I wanted Laura Jane, but TH put his foot down and she’s Laura Anne, which to me sounds like a stutter, but she’s happy with it). I’ve recently warmed up to Leslie as well.

For a boy, I love the names Nathaniel, Simon, and Dwight.

Christopher Crimestopper
Jeremy Jereyou

To go with the other two quads.

We’re done here, but if I had more I would name a girl Rose Catherine (after my mother, whose name was Rozelda) and a boy Lute Henry (after my dad, who was Luther). (Not a typo - Dad’s nickname was Lute, not Luke.)

In high school we had to carry around egg babies for a week – I had twins, Evangeline Athena and Tristan Xavier. They still sound pretty good to me. Maybe for a pair of cats.

The two names I have left over from the pool after my daughter was born are Eloise and Alice. I couldn’t use both (that would be just too, too much) so I’d have to pick just one. Rose was always going to be the middle name I used for my first daughter, so it would be back to the drawing board for middle names next time.

For a boy, I had either James Douglas (Douglas after my grandfather) or Thomas Graeme (Graeme after my father, and that’s pronounced Graham for all you Americans who haven’t seen it before - it’s as common as muck here) picked out. William and Alexander were also leading contenders.

I’d just like to thank my fake partner for allowing me total freedom to name my fake babies without his input, of course.

To echo many others, I don’t want more kids and couldn’t have 'em if I did, but I would be happy to name four girl cats:

Daphne, Chloe, Phoebe, and Zoe.

Also, with only a few exceptions, the names upthread are aesthetically very pleasing.

Cute, but naturally, I thought

Jeremy Trouble

would round out the bunch.
I had a huge thing for the name “Marshall Danger” when I was in college. If I’d gotten pregnant then, it might have happened.

I like Mary, Alice, Evangeline (or Eva), Josiah, Alexander, and Marshall, still, somewhat. Brendan is a good middle name for a boy; it’s my husband’s confirmation name. He likes Zelda and Cassidy. We have very different tastes in names. :frowning:

If I ever had a boy, Gilgamesh WILL be the middle name. I will fight for it with my life if I have to!

If girl, I’ve always like Relm for a middle name.

Girls: Charlotte, Eliza, Cecily, Briony.

Boys: Simon, Edmund, Peter.

Alas, I’m 32 and very, very single, so I think the chances of my having any kids, let alone seven of them, are dwindling :frowning:

I told my son that my second choice for names for him was Bruno Hockaloogie–from a character in a Cheech and Chong movie. I even called him Bruno for a while after that. It was worth a few chuckles.
