What are your favorite album covers? (please read OP)

No! Never knew about it, just now found it thanks to you.

Earlier today I came across this, also new to me; must be the outer cover for the same release:

I cast another vote for Go 2… should have been in my top 5!

(And I keep thinking of more, but I shall abide by the OP, sigh…)

Grateful Dead - Shakedown Street

Steely Dan - Katy Lied

Grateful Dead - Terrapin Station

Grateful Dead - Wake of the Flood

Allman Brothers Band - Eat A Peach

(bigger Shakedown Street)

Jo Jo Gunne–Jumping the Gunne

Stone the Crows–Teenage Licks

I wouldn’t call it a favorite - but I’m surprised no one has mentioned this album.*

Always loved the first Tubes cover: The Tubes

I always liked Martin Briley’s One Night With A Stranger.

Speaking of The Tubes:
The Tubes: Remote Control

Also:
The Cars - Candy-O
Led Zep III (the one with the pinwheel)
Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers (real zipper)
Rolling Stones - Some Girls (lucille ball and desi arnaz) (can’t find that image)

I like some vaguely NSFW ones, like Blind Faith and Milla Jovovich’s Divine Comedy.

Al Stewart had some album covers in the 70s that featured Dr. Strange on them, Past, Present and Future and Modern Times (Hard to see online, but the flash of light in the background corresponds to the Eye of Agamotto).

Crumb has drawn many beautiful album covers; my favorite is World Musette.

Good one.
I have about a dozen of RC’s various World, Blues, various old 78 collections CD’s, as well as the entire Cheap Suits Serenaders catalogue. Wonderful stuff. In almost every case the music is as good as his cover art.
(pause)
I just went through them all, and have to agree with your choice for favorite.

(continuing my prior post)

A very good friend gave me this DVD. Highly recommended.

Mine also. The cover artwork is by underground cartoonist Robert Crumb’s work. He’s the guy who brought us the Furry Freak Brothers and Fritz the Cat.

The Freak Brothers were created by Gilbert Shelton, not Crumb.

Thank you erudite person. I have been disabused of a skewed notion.

Well I like this one. Gettin’ Down with Johnny Guitar Watson.

And this Whitesnake album cover.

And this Boxer album cover hits the spot.

And a little Justin Timberlake that’sjust all wrong.

Mind you, I’m not particularly interested in any of the songs on any of these albums, most of which I have not heard … but you just asked about the covers.

First one I thought of.

All of these links take me to a Google image search of “sexyalbum covers”

And?

The inside of the “Tommy” album. The original by The Who. The one with the blue cover with diamond shapes. I’m thinking of the pictures inside. I lost my vinyl album years ago and I have always wanted to see one of the pictures on the inside again. The one I mean is a big, tall building, lit up from below, at night. It’s darn creepy, like Russian 30’s propaganda art, and I would love to see it again. I’ve looked and looked online and have seen other pictures inside, even found the name of the artist, but not this one of the building. Anyone know what I mean, where I could find it?

It’s not technically part of the cover, it was in the booklet that came with the album.
