What are your favorite issues of Playboy magazine?

“State Street…that graight street!”

I still have mine, laminated and mounted on a piece of fiberboard.

My favorite issue–don’t remember the year/month–had a playmate who looked (to me) exactly like Diana Rigg.

November, 1976. Not only for Patti Mcquire but also the Carter interview, and the Sex in Cinema feature was good too. I was just 16 when it came out.

I don’t remember what was inside, but I remember THIS cover.

Anyone spot the hidden suggestions of her pose? Subliminal messages were a big item in the 70’s.

Well, especially in the case of Bo, I think that might’ve been due to some man-made intervention.

Getting back to the topic, I can’t really say it’s my favorite, but the cover the March 1973 issue did seem to have an impact on me at the time even though I wasn’t old enough to realize it.

Dad had a small stack of Playboys that I would…um…stumble upon now and then. One pictorial that really made an impression was the spread on A Clockwork Orange. Now, my teenaged mind didn’t know Kubrick from Khruschchev, but I was quite intrigued.

The Google Machine tells me this was the January 1972 issue.
mmm

This reminded me, there was also a wonderful interview with Wendy Carlos that went into depth on the scoring of “A Clockwork Orange” and other works, her use of the Moog, her transition during filming. I just looked it up, it was 16 pages long!

I came here to say, Dec 88. I came across this one in the early 2000s when an apartment I was renting had a whole stack of back issues.
