My favorite: West Side Story. Hands down. Fiddler on the Roof is second.
Missing from the list I would have voted for:
Damn Yankees
Hair
The Music Man

Oh shoot, I forgot to vote for 1776 and Kiss Me Kate. Man, Howard Keel was to die for in those days. And he still wasn’t bad courting Miss Elly on Dallas.
I know not too many have voted so far for South Pacific but I love it for the song You’ve Got to be Carefully Taught. That song was played at the first organized anti-Phelps/WBC rally I was part of. “You’ve got to be taught, before it’s to late/Before you’re six or seven or eight/To hate all the people your relatives hate/…”
Another vote for each of:
Kiss Me Kate
How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying
The Music Man
The Blues Brothers
Godspell
Is it possible that not only has Sweeney Todd not been included on the list but no one in this thread thus far has even mentioned it? really?
But my personal favorite is actually Sunday in the Park with George (also not on the list??) or at least the first half.
Are you sure you realize that the OP is looking for movie musicals? I mean, I know Sweeney has been turned into a movie, but Sunday hasn’t, so I’m thinking maybe that’s the case. But Sweeney should definitely be on the list!
