What are your favorite songs that begin with the letter J and were released on or after January 1, 2000? See rules in OP {FINAL POLL ADDED}

  1. Jesus of the Moon - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (2008)

From some of the comments it is clear that we are scraping the bottom of the Jif jar.

That said, we do have 9 slots left, so if ya got something else to say, J-wise, speak now.

I will definitely cut this one off at 50.

mmm

Extremely esoteric, given that it requires knowing the plot of the Doki Doki Literature Club game, but it’s damn catchy:

Just Monika - Random Encounters (2018)

Other than that, all I can offer is a club mix:

Jungle - Fred Again… (2022)

Just the Way You Are, Bruno Mars (2010)

Warning: if you listen to this, you will end up voting for it.

Jailhouse Fire - Laura Veirs (2015)

Johnny Dear – Kassi Valazza (2019)
Judgement (& Punishment) - Jinjer (2019)
Joke, The – Brandy Carlile (2018)

  1. Jesus Walks - Kanye West (2004)

Johnny Magic – Neil Young (2009)

And…that’ll do it for the Js.

Poll commencing directly.

Hehehe, I never remember the artist or the title of this song, but that synth riff rips out and I go “Oh shit! It’s the Stylophone song!”

And I own a Sylophone, so of course I had to vote for it.

I don’t get the lack of candidates - hell, I could have filled my list just with “Jealousy” songs. And that’s within my personal tighter criteria.

Here have some more J:
Just For Now Imogen Heap, 2005
Julie Rhiannon Giddens, 2017
Jealousy - Alice Merton, 2018
Jealousy - Pale Waves 2022

Jigsaw Falling Into Place is a masterpiece. There’s absolutely no fat on that song whatsoever. Slightly appalled that this community rates Pink above it! :stuck_out_tongue:

I think the same about “Jealous” - most of Labrinth’s stuff I find forgettable, but that’s a beautifully crafted song.

I forgot to include Juice, by Lizzo (2019) – oh, well.

“Just Give Me a Reason” gets my vote, while “Just Dance” fell just short of getting a second vote from me.

“Jerk It Out” isn’t a bad song per se, but it was used in those damn iPod commercials with the dancing silhouettes, so it finishes in dead-ass last place in the world-famous Ponch8 Music Rating System.

Awww, but Stylophone!
