What are your favorite songs that begin with the letter J and were released on or after January 1, 2000? See rules in OP {FINAL POLL ADDED}

RULES:

Submissions must begin with the letter J. Exclude articles such as “a”, “an”, “the”, etc. that begin the title. Example: “The Hokey Pokey” belongs in the H poll, not the T poll.

Songs must have been first released on or after January 1, 2000.

IMPORTANT: You must include the year of release with each submission. Entries that do not will be excluded.

No cover songs allowed, unless the original was released on or after 1/1/2000.

I humbly ask for everyone’s assistance in ensuring that we all adhere to these rules. Please politely point out any questionable entries.

Submissions are limited to 5 per person. Please do not post title suggestions or comments on alternative titles. This takes a little of the fun out of the process. It is ok, after the polls are posted, to name titles that have been overlooked.

If you edit your already-posted entry to make a change, I may not see it. Please do not edit your posted list or re-post your entire list – this gets confusing - just add a new post with changes or additions only. EXAMPLE: Remove “A Day in the Life” and add “Daddy Don’t You Walk So Fast.”

You are allowed to make changes to your entries (see previous paragraph) up until the time that the first polls are posted.

You must include the artist (not the composer, unless they are the same person) or your submission will not be counted.

Polls will appear in this thread once submissions begin to wind down.

Classical releases are excluded.

Final poll, also in this thread, will narrow the field to 10-ish.

And, in desperation,

Judge Jury And Executioner - Radiohead, 2003

Note: every song on Hail To The Thief has a title and an alternative title. This is the alternative title of Myxomatosis. I will fully understand if it is therefore disqualified.

j

No known original Kesha “J” songs.

Both of the songs I was going to nominate have been nominated already.

Yeah, I don’t think we should be entertaining the possibility of a single song being eligible for two polls.

So, if you really love it, save it for the M thread.

mmm

…already had

j

JCB - Nizlopi (2004)

Jealous - Labrinth (2014)

Jerk It Out - The Caesars (2002)

Johnny Got A Boom Boom - Imelda May (2009)

Joy (Life Goes On) - Ezra Collective, Sampa the Great, Joy Anonymous (2022)

Yay! (even though, if there is a second round in this thread, I’m screwed)

Yeah, I’m pretty much tapped out. I have a few more I could list but only one more I’d actually recommend.

Hehe, I’m in a similar spot. It seems that most of the songs in my record/recording collection that start with J mostly start with “Jesus” and were recorded in the 1930s.
