I am pleased to announce the following nominees, which I will read in alphabetical order:

That is all.
I am pleased to announce the following nominees, which I will read in alphabetical order:
VIP - Kesha (2010)
That is all.
Quarrel – Moses Sumney (2017)
Valkyrie in the Roller Disco – The New Pornographers (2010)
Video Games – Lana Del Rey (2011)
Vision One – Röyksopp (2009)
X Gon’ Give It To Ya – DMX (2002)
Heh, dangit. I won’t wait to see if we get extra picks for this song. But dang, this is hard. It’s like picking your favorite child or favorite cat. Umm, can I replace…
Visit Colonel - Thee Oh Sees - 2008
with
Zhong Nan Hai - Carsick Cars - 2007
Studio:
Live:
(La) Valse d’Amélie – Yann Tiersen (2001)
And thus a chunk of my list are already covered…
Moving on - X marks the spot:
X - Poppy (2018). One of the most bipolar songs I’ve encountered, pinging back and forth between bubblegum pop and death metal. Weirdly it works (at least for me).
X - Miss Li (2022). Very catchy Swedish pop.
X - Bicep ft Clara La San (2021). A little club music for your delectation.
X - Trivium (2021). This is the instrumental opening to what appears to be a concept album. The song that follows this (“In The Court Of The Dragon”) is loud and shouty in (IMHO) a not-very-interesting way, but this short track promises much anyway.
X&Y - Caity Baser (2022). A catchy “fuck you to my ex” song. Like Meghan Trainor with more swearing.
Well, lookie here, I turn my back for a moment and we creep over 50 submissions.
If anyone can scrape up another 1-3 QVXZ-ers, let’s have 'em.
@scabpicker, I assume you want to revisit the Colonel?
mmm
Valencia - Decemberists (2006)
Qlona - Karol G & Peso Pluma (2023)
Queen Of Hearts - The Hillbilly Moon Explosion ft. Sparky (2019)
Verde River – Kassi Valazza (2019)
This one is actually titled “O Valencia”, thus ineligible.
mmm
Each, or just altogether? Because:
Quand Les Larmes D’un Ange Font Danser La Neige Melody’s Echo Chamber, 2018

Zero NewJeans, 2023
Sure. I’ve got:

Villain - Bella Poarch (2022)
Zorbing - Stornaway (2010)
I’ve got a few more if you like.
Verdis Quo - Daft Punk, 2001
A Quick Peep - Oasis, 2001
Vertigo - The Libertines, 2002

Yes, please and thankya!
Valio La Pena - Marc Anthony 2010 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ns9YYSqLxyI
Salsa classic
Quizas SI, quizas no - Hector Acosta 2010 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANbxbbK9i5A A great mix of voices in this bachata
Vivir mi vida - Marc Anthony 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXnjy5YlDwk
This song has an interesting history. It was first recorded in 2012 by the great Algerian singer Cheb Khaled as a rai, in a mix of Arabic and French. Marc Anthony covered it as a salsa song in 2014. There are also versions in other languages and styles:
Nice. I’ll include a Carolina Chocolate Drops song when we get to “R” – if it’s okay to do one whose composition is “traditional, arranged by the band.”
Might as well have the rest of my list, since the odds of hitting 100 entries seems small:
Villon Song - Stick in the Wheel (2020) . Based on an 1885 poem using 15th century criminal slang.
Violent - carolesdaughter (2020)
Zitti E Buoni - Maneskin (2021 Eurovision entry for Italy)
Yeah, I know, but I forgot to include it with the O’s after nearly forgetting my brain , so I was hoping to sneak it in here.
Hmmm…“traditional” doesn’t sound like 21st century. Is the one I nominated - Quasheba - a traditional composition?
If so, I will…er…quash it.
shakes fist at Mr. Firefly
