I’m not gonna cry (probably not gonna win, anyway), but Zhong Non Hai didn’t make it in somehow.
Oh well, I’ll vote for sumpin’ else.
(I’m really not trying to bust your balls for doing us a favor, mmm. Thank you, again!)

Hehe, it’s nice to know it’s not just me reading too much into it.
And the chain of events with this band and I went something like this: Someone sent me the video for Parpaing (nominated in the previous poll), and I originally thought “Cool, but I’m not sure I get it.” So I watched a few more and ran into that video pretty quickly. I watched that video a few times just to try to figure out what the hell might be going on, and its rhythmic groove just grew on me. I’ve since bought all the records, made sure I caught him/them the one time they’ve come through town, and have a lovely Igorrr t-shirt featuring a chicken with flaming eyes that is now dear to me.
And if you asked me what style of music Igorrr makes, I’d either give the unhelpful descriptions of “Metal” or “All the genres”. Mostly because “Cannibal Corpse playing Devo covers while alternating with an orchestra and a European folk group, plus chickens” is a clunky name for a genre, and it still doesn’t quite cover Igorrr.
Zhong Non Hai didn’t make it in somehow.
Weird, it’s right there on my spreadsheet.
Sorry.

OK, you sold it to me. I gave it a listen. It’s fine, but you’re right - the genre needs a snappier name.

I listened to it, and loved it – just FYI.

Well, the answer is pretty plain, then. The CCP has your SDMB login and is using it to manipulate the poll choices! (adjusts foil Stetson to ensure proper coverage)

Heheh, yeah, and thanks for giving it a listen. Did you listen to both Very Noise and Vegetable Soup? The latter spawned that description.

Thanks, I went into a YT hole of Chinese rock bands a while back. That one stuck pretty hard.

The former, but I also listened to Vegetable Soup just now. Actually more enjoyable than just weird, I would say. I may have to look this - uh - person up.

The drum lick reminded me of “She And Mr Jones” by Lords of Acid, which is a little more… conventional.
FINAL POLL – What are your favorite 2000s QVXZ songs? Select up to 3.
In a shocking upset, “Xplosion” came out of nowhere to become the highest-rated choice in the world-famous Ponch8 Music Rating System. I hadn’t even heard of the song before @scabpicker nominated it.
Glad to be of service! Now, Outkast just needs to convince 6 more dopers to move into first.
