I’m gonna say it now: how is it that virtually every other song from the Hamilton soundtrack has been nominated along the way, and nobody grabbed The Room Where It Happens, the best song in the musical?

I think many of us want to honor and acknowledge the whole show (it really is “of a piece”), and now that we’ve sorta done that, we can move on. I barely notice the numbers as distinct songs.

For other letters I’ve 8-10 songs that make my list for potential submissions. Songs that I’ve deemed worthy enough to include on a “greatest songs” list. Some of those get submitted by someone else before I can get in there, and that’s great. Makes it easier on me.

For S, I have 32!
