Yeah, I missed it. For the record, two would have been Union City Blue by Blondie; and Uncle Arthur by David Bowie.

Unmentioned until now:
Under The Ice - The Nazz
Underture - The Who
Uncomplicated - Rick Derringer
Unmarked Helicopters - Soul Coughing
I did a search before my list, saw it come up, but didn’t check the artist.
Unanswered Prayers - Garth Brooks
This is the first thread where none of my nominations have only a single vote (mine)! (True, one has only my vote and one other, but give me my scraps please)
I thought of relatively few great U songs, but I was surprised at how many pretty good ones I came up with. Those that neither I nor anyone else mentioned:
The Ugly Underneath - XTC
Uncle Sam - Madness
Uncle Son - The Kinks
Under the Bed - John Austin
Under Moonshine - The Moody Blues
Under My Feet - The Moody Blues
Underground - Men At Work
Unlucky Lady - Trip Shakespeare
Unsupervised, I Hit My Head - Mono Puff
Up In the Morning - Lost Dogs
Urban Legends - The Swirling Eddies
and the U-est song I know:
U U U U - The 77s
I didn’t post any nominations because the only one I could think of that wasn’t already posted was “Underneath the Mango Tree” from the film Dr. No. …and I don’t think that was actually Ursula Andress who sang it.
Under a Raging Moon - Roger Daltrey (written by John Parr)
Undertow - Ivy
Up there, Cazaly, by Mike Brady, performed by the Two-Man Band, a duo of Brady and Peter Sullivan.
Context: Roy Cazaly was a famous footballer in the Victorian Football League in Australia. He was known for his prodigious leaps or “marks”: see the Wikipedia article. Cazaly played for the St Kilda and South Melbourne football clubs.
I tangentially mentioned it when I said The Beths song was not a cover.
More U songs:
Use ta Be My Girl - The O’Jays
Until the Real Thing Comes Along - Billie Holiday
Until You Come Back to Me (That’s What I’m Gonna Do) - Aretha Franklin
Diana Coupland, apparently.
Brains are weird things. So far as I can recollect I have never before seen Up there, Cazaly written down, and knew nothing of it’s origins; but, reading the title, I was instantly taken back to that intermittently weird and wonderful (but mostly not) Aussie Rules movie The Club, which features the song. Haven’t thought about that movie in decades.

FINAL POLL – What are your favorite U songs? Select up to 3.
I am outraged that none of my submissions are in the top ten. What, you don’t like songs about pigeons? Heartless!
I was amazed that one of mine hit the top.
Right, it’s finally happened, there’s absolutely nothing in the poll I can bring myself to hold my nose and vote for.
What if someone were to put a gun to your head and insist you vote for at least one song? Then, surely, it would be under pressure.
Ha! Ha!.
If I absolutely had to, it’s be The Drifters, not that Queen abomination (and why isn’t David Bowie getting his fair share of the blame, there?)
