Celebrating the 21st anniversary of my first date with Suburban Plankton…mostly by staying home and playing games with him and Ledzepkid and watching the ball drop on TV.
We’re grabbing Chinese take-out around 5pm, then hunkering down out of the line of fire to await the new year. Which means I’ll probably be in bed by 10pm.
We’ll stay home this year (for the first time in ages) and plan to hold a Sandbaggers marathon the next day.
Santa left me a brand spanking new boyfriend for Christmas and we’re going to First Night in Pittsburgh.
Times Square, again. We have connections to an office with a GREAT view. This will be my 7th or 8th time, 3rd for the kids.
That’s me, too. And it’s enjoyable!
Stay home and not watch celebration. Either be on computer or ring in the new year with some macabre program. A few years ago, it was a program about the history of torture…
I wanna go to Vegas but so far that’s not looking likely…still have my fingers crossed though.
tradition at PiperHouse is to go to the house of some friends - have been doing New Year with them for over a decade now, along with a third couple. watch the ball drop on tv, and then drive cautiously home.
difference between New Years in Sydney and New Years in Regina - no fireworks tradition - too friggin’ cold!
It’s likely to be fairly cool here too for New Year’s Eve - at least by our standards. At the moment the forecast is for only 17-20 or so. We’re almost a month into summer and Sydney hasn’t yet had a really warm day.
We are going out to a nice restaurant we haven’t been to before at 7, then we’ll spend the rest of the evening at home. I imagine we’ll be snoozing by the time the new year rolls in.
I and my spouse are going out to cook New Year’s Eve breakfast at our church, and eat same. The entire town is invited! Then we’re going down the hill to the waterfront for the big bonfire!
I’ve NEVER done anything like this before, and I’m 62 y.o. Sounds like fun! And then I’ll drink champagne when we get home
We’re heading to the Melting Pot for fondue night with two other couples (in-laws and friends) and then hanging out in the friends’ hotel room to watch the TV festivities. It’s a big deal for the other two couples because they have kids and never get a night off, so it’s a tradition for them to get a sitter New Years Eve and get hotel rooms for a night away. We’re just tagging along.
I’m just looking forward to yummy fondue and hanging out with friends - the stuff on TV isn’t all that great, but we watch it anyway. It’s not 2012 till Dick Clark says so.
Same here, except I don’t have the late shift NYE, thank goodness. But I do have to be up at the crack of dawn on NYD.
My Wife and I will probably go to a movie with friends in the afternoon, and then have an early dinner and a few beers at a restaurant. Should be home by 7 or so.
Stay home and watch movies. Around midnight I’ll break out some fizzy wine and snacks.
My nephew is getting married on NYE, so I’ll be at the NYE party/reception with the young’uns. Should be fun.
At 9:00 we’ll go to a low-key party with some close friends in our neighborhood. I’d like to be home well before midnight.
For the first time in a few years, my partner will be in town. So we’ll watch a movie or two, then cuddle in front of a fire, with the pups and kittehs. Maybe a few friends will stop by.
