What are your prejudices?

I can’t stand mystery OPs

I hate juniper and barberry bushes.

I’m very good at cleaning carpets, but I don’t like it one little bit.

I’ll never be the boss’s pal, no matter how nice a guy he may be.

I despise poodles and Kid Rock; nasty, vile creatures.

I don’t think any of those qualify as prejudices. A prejudice is a preconceived judgment, usually against a particular group. Me, I’m prejudiced against rich people.

Stupid people. I think everyone is stupid until then prove otherwise. I am the final arbiter of whether I think someone is stupid. I am prejudiced against people in general. They are all stupid.
Ditto, ugly people. I don’t care if you’re nice or smart, I don’t like ugly people.
Oh, and Virgo’’‘s’’’. They are all overbearing, pompus, idiots. Even if they’re not, I’m still prejudiced against them.

Irresponsible people, especially if they’re smart enough to know better. I came to this realization at age 15, when I arrived at my ice-cream-scooping job to discover that my only other co-worker for the evening was so stoned that she literally couldn’t stand up. Mind you, this was a lovely August evening with a temperature in the 90’s and humidity around 98%. Boy, did I have fun.

I think people who listen to and like N’Sync are airheads with no taste.

I think people who wear clothes flashing huge name brands like GAP and DKNY are airheads with too much money.

I think people who talk on cellphones in public (especially in the grocery store) are airheads with a talking addiction.

I’m a very prejudiced and mean person.

I’m prejudiced against younger men as my lover. Since I’m married this should be moot, but still, I do get hit on occasionally. Just don’t like younger men. I did date 2, they were ok…but as Mr. Horse would say, “No sir, I don’t like it”

People who refer to women as “ladies”, and worse refer to young women as “young ladies”.

They are everywhere. At best it’s a stomach-churning, teeth-clenching, patronising anachronism.

The bastards!

Then there are the people who would defend such behaviour, they’re bastards too.

And people with small dogs, what is that about? Why not just buy a rat? – they shit less and don’t make that yappy sound.

People who are unable to distinguish between the message and the media, but then that’s not a prejudice, they really deserve to be loathed.

Those among us who have never quite understood the usage rules for the apostrophe.

Those half-wits who insist on saying “myself” when they mean “me”, I could smack them.

In fact, don’t get me started about people in general, Thursdays must be Misanthropy Day or something.

people who have children

until you prove me different (and it does happen) im going to just assume that all those years of cleaning up someone elses crap, being drooled on, and talkwalky’ing like a weetle baabeee have some how damaged your brain and reduced adult commuication ability.

You’re not into younger men and you’re quoting Mr. Horse?

JK.
This is ok, so long as you aren’t prejudice against the few women who DO like younger men and the younger men. I think I used to be prejudice against women who would never date a younger man. I suppose I fancy older women.

Smokers. If I see someone with a cigarette hanging out of their mouth I automatically deduct about 20 IQ points.

I’ve tried to figure out why I feel this way, and I have no idea. I’m no paragon of good health habits myself.

Beat me to it! I agree, in spades.

I’m sort of afraid of tall men, but I’m very aware of it, so I try to head it off with all sorts of psychological tricks. (Like hiding in the bathroom. No, really, self-talk and deep breathing and stuff usually does the trick.)

And I tend to think that men who go to strip clubs and topless bars, etc, are icky. Just…icky. It’s okay by me if they do it, but I wouldn’t want to date them. Can’t help it. I have issues.

Interesting thread! And I want a tee shirt with C@W’s philosophy on it.

Like, for instance, a reduction in the ability to spell, puncuate, and capitalize? Heh.

Riiiiight.

I bear no prejudice toward any man(just to piss the women off) except if they persist in ignorance.

On the other hand, I am perilously close to attempting to quit smoking, and when I do, I intend to be prejudiced against EVERYONE.
It’s not my fault I decided to look cool forty some years ago, so it must be YOURS, and everyone else’s. Those screams of outrage you will hear are mine. (And yours, if you get in my way!)

Okay - my deep dark fault. I’m prejudiced against fat people. Not that I think everyone should look anorexic. Heck - I could stand to lose some weight (I’m a ladies size 10-12. I should be an 8). I’m talking about the enormous people I see waddling around the hallways at work, who take the elevator down one floor instead of just taking the stairs. I have sisters who are that large, and I know that it impacts their health. I know that they can’t do a lot of activities I’d consider normal, like riding a horse or even just walking around the mall for a couple of hours. I don’t understand why anyone would let themselves get so large it makes living their lives difficult and uncomfortable. Do I say nasty things to them? No. Do I do things that make them uncomfortable? I try not to. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that I think badly about people because of one irrational factor. I try to change my thinking, but so far the best I can do is make sure my behaviour is okay. “I have sinned through my own fault. In my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and what I have failed to do.”

StG

I dislike people who belong to political parties.

You’ll like 'em when you’re 80. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have no idea how my thread got started but my initial post got deleted. That is just weird.
Anyway my prejudices.
Smokers- just what WV woman said.
Hugely fat people- that their lazy
People with huge tatoos or piercings- Just like smokers
Muslim women in this country who wear the full body veil- I feel sorry for them but still think they are spineless.
