Combing through the news, I have identified the following large ground units fighting against Saddam Hussein in Iraq:
U.S. 82nd Airborne Division
U.S. 101st Air Assault Division
U.S. 3rd Infantry Division
1st Marine Expeditionary Unit.
Any other U.S. divisions there? I understand they’re starting to unload 4th Infantry Division in Kuwait now, but that they’re not yet all there.
What units have the British deployed? Who are those Royal Marines that I see running around here and there? What’s that unit with the Challenger tanks?
I’m also unclear about the echelons in between the divisions and Central Command. Which of these divisions are under V Corps and which are under XVIII Airborne Corps? Any other corps-level or army-level units in between Central Command and the division level?
