What Broadway Shows Should I See?

We saw Chicago Sunday. with Cuba Gooding Jr. as Billy Flynn and Bianca Marroquin as Roxy. She debuted in 2002 in the role and she was amazing. (Best substitutes I’ve ever seen.)
But we used our My Fair Lady tickets to jump the TKTs line. Just show them to a red shirt and you’ll be told where to enter. There was a big long line - but we were in and out of there in under five minutes. Best trick ever.

Awesome! Chicago is a blast. I don’t know if I’ll ever spend the time/money to see it on Broadway; I’ve OD on one too many amateur productions.

I saw My Fair Lady on Sunday, and was blown away (and yeah, it’s Kerstin Anderson who was playing Eliza who I was there to see). Aside from thinking she was just loverly, the whole production was spectacular. Beautiful, well executed sets, elegant costumes, and dynamic performances from leads and ensemble alike. Norbert Leo Butz played a great Alfred (I want a follow-up show: “The Life and Times of Alfred P. Doolittle”).

This was a show I’d never seen done, but watched the movie/listened to the CD non stop as a kid, and knew every line of the music, so I admit I had my nostalgia itch scratched with this, but I really can’t imagine a better production of My Fair Lady. If you’ve ever wanted to see a production, this is the one to see.

We saw it i9n regional theater, and we saw the movie, but nothing like seeing it on Broadway. Still, it seemed a bit tired to me. Not surprising after all these years.

Definitely agree about Leo Butz. MFGL is the best thing we’ve seen so far.
Today we saw “The Nap” which is about the world snooker championship in England. Not the thing I’d see if I only had one play to see in NY, but fun. We’ve been here only a week and have seen three shows already. It’s called spending your kids inheritance - not that our kids need it.
Next is probably The Band’s Visit (in the theater next to the onw with the Nap - very long line getting in) and Bernhardt/Hamlet. And a Physics show that runs weekends only.

I’m late to this thrwad, but everyone needs to go see Popcorn Falls at the Davenport Theatre. My son and I were in NYC for Mean Girls and we caught s matinee of Popcorn Falls. As terrific as Mean Girls was (and it truly was), it’s difficult to say which was more enjoyable.

I just saw Fiddler here in Upstate NY last night, a travelling Broadway cast - just EXCELLENT. I so love the songs, I wouldn’t mind hearing them sung in Yiddish, either.

Avenue Q is hilarious. An off-Broadway show, but probably the most expensive and popular of those.

Since this got bumped anyway, here are the five shows we saw, in rough order of how much I liked them
My Fair Lady
Lifespan of a Fact
The Band’s Visit
The Nap
Chicago

with some space between The Nap and Chiago, which was feeling tired.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
