I agree! Although I keep the premium butters on hand, my go to spread has been Brummel & Brown ever since it came out!
In Houston, I’d have to go with Falfurrias
In Houston, I’d have to go with Falfurrias
Ya know–that’s owned by the Plugra people. And it’s about an hour north of here–you can actually see the “Falfurrias Butter” place from 281! Is it any good? I’ve never tried it! They always have it at HEB-----
I try to only eat pastured butter. Kerrygold and Organic Valley are available in the supermarket, and I often by butter from local farmers who offer grassfed dairy.
The only taste difference I ever noticed was a consistent “off” flavor in the Organic Valley brand. So, Land’o’Lakes (no local store brand available), or we stock up on City Market store brand when in town. I looooove butter
That is the taste of nutrients, my friend. Pastured dairy and meat have stronger, somewhat gamey flavor.
I was a Plugra girl until I found Rochdale Farms Hand-Rolled Butter. By far, the best butter I’ve ever tasted. I could eat that stuff with a spoon!
Kate’s usually - http://www.kateshomemadebutter.com/
I know the little girl doesn’t really make my butter, but I like to pretend she does.
If I am at a store that doesn’t sell Kate’s I buy Cabot.
Calrissian, FTW.
Store brand, unsalted. I don’t ever put it on bread or anything, though; I only cook with it. I don’t do any baking, either.
I grew up on Parkay, and didn’t switch to real butter until a few years ago. One day I realized that the calorie/fat content in real butter wasn’t bad enough to justify the worse taste/texture that came from using margarine. Plus, butter is cheaper.
A NW regional brand called Tillamook.
I use Olivio which I started using a couple years ago when Olive Oil was in the news a lot because it’s so healthy.
Whatever is cheapest. Although I bought Land-o-Lakes once when my son was younger, so I could “show him”.
