worn/damaged wiper that should be scraping off the toner…new cartridge should be fine.
Thanks for the opinion. I figured it may be due to the age of the toner cart. I haven’t used it often and it’s 3rd party.
I was worried it may be the drum which can be pricy.
I know it’s impossible to diagnose 100% remotely but I will order a new cartridge from Amazon.
Check the price at Monoprice as well. They’re known for cheap cables but I get toner from them for about an 1/8th of what Office Max/Depot sells it for.
Also, if, on your printer, the drum is a separate part, that’s probably the part that needs to be replaced, not the toner, but I’m guessing it’s all in the cartridge.
Monoprice has a MPI Remanufacturered HP35A CB435A Laser/Toner-Black for 25.99 I don’t know if I want to trust a non HP cartridge at this point.
I think you’ll have fewer problems with OEM cartridges rather than refilled ones.
Right thus my desire to avoid anything that says reconditioned or remanufactured.
I’m going to buy a compatible one off Amazon. Most likely this one in the morning.
As I have received an answer I would li8ke this thread either closed or moved to IMHO.
if you don’t go through many of them, I’d probably use OEM ones. At work, we go through one every four months. In the 4 or 5 years we’ve had our current HP laser jet I think we had one ‘explode’ (and make a mess inside the printer, but I cleaned it up) and two that didn’t work very well. So that was three bum toners over the last 16 that I’ve ordered and I’ve saved about $2000. It makes sense for me, but a home user that goes through one a year…I can see where you’d rather just get the right one and pay more to know it’s going to work.
That’s not an OEM cartridge, also, you should probably read the reviews.
A $14 cartridge isn’t new, it’s refilled.
I agree and don’t understand. You want to avoid a reconditioned or remanufactured toner cartridge, but that’s exactly what you plan to buy. The OEM cartridge is about $68 at Staples.
I posted the wrong link. This is the one I ordered
