What Can I do With Flour?

I just recently did a survey of the food left in my house. Flour and seasonings are about it, plus a few random condiments. I know hardtack was just flour and water but are there any other decent recipes for flour?

Any tips for making this staple tasty would be much appreciated.

From my grandmothers recipe file:

**Pasta

eggs
flour**

Seriously. That’s it. That’s all she wrote.

If you have some lard (or shortening, even), you could make tortillas.

Cup of flour, cup of water, 1 egg = crepes. (cup of milk instead of water if you have it.)

Crêpe batter also typically has a bit of oil or butter to make them lighter, and salt to give them a bit of flavour.

Roux — flour and fat (oil or butter). Roux + salt + pepper + milk = white gravy for biscuits. Throw in some beefy-type seasoning (Kitchen Bouquet, or maybe a boullion cube [and skip the salt] and you’ve got a gravy that you can put over veggies… or over biscuits!

Biscuits — flour and butter, plus sugar, salt, baking powder, and milk.

Biscuits ‘n’ gravy, mmm mmm.
