Any torture works but this one is specifically (I believe) how annoyed over time you get and how that psychologically messes you up. Does anyone know any techniques to combat this if this were happening?
Or any psychological techniques to get over any other torture? Thanks.
I am asking because I feel if you can get around the mechanism of dripping water on your forehead fucking up your psychology, then you can probably easily beat life’s (sometimes) continual frustrations. Any ideas anyone?
Confess quickly.
Do the thing most torture victims do: tell them what they want to hear, regardless of whether it’s true.

I’m not sure, but among POWs in Vietnam some of the coping mechanisms were to create a rich inner fantasy life to escape the world around you.
Hypnosis may help, it is used in dentistry sometimes as an analgesic.
Good point. I once saw an episode of ‘Stan Lee’s Superhumans’ where one guy was reported to be able to escape from pain by disassociating from the ‘real world,’ maybe in particular by going into a fantasy world. So in light of that having a good fantasy life makes sense.
Hypnosis makes sense too, I’m not sure how easy it would be to self hypnotise in those circumstances though.
Thanks for sharing.
