I recall reading an article on the internet a year or so ago, i can’t find it now, but the article stated that job satisfaction has little to do with money or how much you like the subject you are working with (ie, someone who loves biology who is working in science for example). Most job satisfaction came from working environment. Things like relationship(s) with bosses, co-workers, or customers were high on the list of making or breaking satisfaction. i think the biggest factor was independence. the ability to learn new things, teh ability to have responsibility, the ability to try new things were high on the list and all tie into independence. wages were about 8th. Naturally you can guess the main factors that threaten job satisfaction are the opposite of these. doing the same thing over & over again, no responsibility, no independence, terrible customers, coworkers and bosses would be a really bad work environment.
having said that, and that the major factors in job satisfaction vary from workplace to workplace, what careers in general offer the highest job satisfaction?
