What causes a "burning" sensation?

In the “muscles” that is.

It’s different from your basic “strained” muscle, which causes a single pain, then goes away when you ease off.

This kind of muscle strain causes more of a burning sensation which feels like it spreads for several seconds after you “ease off” before it starts subsiding.

The other kind of muscle strain seems to come from high impact activities occurring over a short time, with this kind coming from low impact activities recurring over a period of days. (Won’t bore ya with the details on why I think it’s occurring, but it’s nothing exciting.)

I’ve always called this “bursitis,” but I have no idea if that’s what it is. I just know it’s a different feeling from a normal muscle strain.

A blow torch usually does the trick.

How 'bout we sing ‘Kyle’s mom is a stupid bitch’ in D minor?

Lighting one’s farts I believe… but I think Sealemon may be the expert on this.

I really try to be good but it just isn’t in my nature!

If you’re talking about the burning sensation you get during a workout, I believe it’s caused by lactic acid being released in the muscles. When I cycle, I drink a sports drink that contains a buffer for this to improve my performance. Here is a link that should explain more. Again, I’m not sure if this is the “burn” that you are talking about…

We won’t need them where we’re goin’,
We’re goin’ where the wind is blowin’.”

I just reread your post and you mentioned bursitis. If you are feeling pain in your joints or bones, you really should see a doctor. It could be anything, but things like shin splints(stress fractures) and other minor things can lead to pathological fractures and other “bad” things.
